The Best Turkey

1 (12 pound) whole turkey, neck and giblets removed
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons salt
1 apple – peeled, cored and cubed
DIRECTIONS
1. Warm oven to 350 F (175 C).
2. Rinse turkey inside and out.
3. Pat it dry with paper towels.
4. Put olive oil and salt all over.
5. Put apple pieces inside cavity.
6. Put turkey in a large roasting pan.
7. Note: Place turkey breast side down.
8. Roast for 3 hours in warmed oven.
9. Take from oven and carefully flip it.
10. Note: Place turkey breast side up.
11. Return pan to oven and cook well.
12. Wait until internal temperature is 180 F.
13. Note: Take temperature at thickest part of thigh.
14. Let turkey sit for 30 minutes before carving.
